Winter Driving

This half day course is highly recommended for all high mileage business drivers but particularly those who routinely travel on rural major and minor roads as part of their work. The British winter doesn't just mean coping with snow and ice - leaves, mud, hail and sleet can be just as lethal and this course will give drivers a distinct advantage in driving incident avoidance in these challenging circumstances.
The course starts with an interactive seminar, full of fascinating facts, hints and tips on how to deal with everything that the British winter throws at us. Participants will then take part in a practical off-road skills enhancement session, part of which utilises the Skid Car to explain why and how skids occur, and the best way to avoid them in the first place. The other half of the practical session covers high speed static object avoidance and recovery, which will equip drivers with the skills to avoid such things as concealed kerbs, low walls, bollards and other potential hazards.
Our winter driving courses assist with improving road skills and vehicle control when the road conditions get tough. Severe winter conditions may be a rarity these days but when they do strike you'll be glad this course equipped you to deal with them.
